Office Flowers

It’s prime time for primroses. And what a better way to brighten up a dull office than a cute pot of petaled delight? I got this adorable ‘lil specimen for 99 cents at the grocery store, and I have to say it really brightened my work week. Totally worth it. Having a windowless office, the blooms fell off pretty quickly, but the great thing about primroses is you can stick them in the ground after they are done flowering. Ideally they prefer filtered sunlight and, since they like cooler temperatures, would be best in the shade during the summer. A moist soil rich in humus (lots of compost) will suit the primrose quite well. Theoretically you will want to bring them back indoors at the end of the growing season.

This time of year when we are all yearning for signs of spring, I say put matters in to your own hands and purchase a primrose! You’ll be glad you did!
