Beautiful Curly Mustard Greens

HUMBOLDT STREET, Brooklyn: I’ve been able to keep the rats far enough away from the mustard greens, even though they munched all but two or three plants down to the quick, there has still been enough for me.

It’s super spicy this year, and I can only eat so much of it anyway. I made a sort of open faced taco or sope, piling the mustard greens cooked with garlic, onion and pine nuts on top of a flat corn cake made from masarepa. It was great.
